St. Albans is a city that once was the largest Roman town in Britain, known as Verulamium. It has Roman remains dating back over 2,000 years. Only twenty miles north of London, it is a compact city with a magnificent cathedral, acres of parkland and the best preserved Roman Theatre in Britain.
